January is the perfect time for indoor crafts! And not just any craft–indoor snow. That’s right, homemade indoor snow! A fun, simple, sensory activity that will leave your littles dreaming of snowmen. My sweet friend, Lindsay, did this activity with her daughter, and I thought it would be an awesome craft to dig into this weekend!
Indoor Snow is only made from 2 ingredients that you probably already have at home– baking soda and white conditioner. It acts like real snow so it seems like a snowman would be a no brainer. If you plan to build a snowman, collect some twigs from outside for arms, a few small rocks for eyes, buttons and a mouth, a ribbon for the scarf and a toothpick (colored orange) for the nose. You could even go on an outdoor hunt to find said items, and then have a fun time of indoor snow afterward.
Lindsay said that the “snow” feels cool and grainy and makes your hands smooth and soft afterward! A sensory activity for your little and a “spa” moment for mama? I’m in! 😉
Indoor Snow Recipe
3 cups of baking soda
1 cup of white conditioner
Just mix together and let the fun begin!
