April Activities for Kids that are Easy & Fun

Happy April, friends! You know that phrase ‘April showers bring May flowers?’ As a mom, I think it should actually go… “April showers bring…a need for many simple but fun activities for mom and her little ones.” Wordy, I know. I’ll work on it. 🙂

But seriously! April is that time where some days it’s warm and you can get outside, and other days the weather is demanding we bring back our winter coats. Some days where it’s sunny and dry, and others filled with clouds and rain, leaving mom and her little ones stuck in the house needing something (anything!) to do.

And as I’ve reflected upon the past 4 months of activity calendars we’ve created, I’ve realized that the Spring and summer months bring with them a need for simplicity. So, how about a curated list of ideas to have in your back pocket rather than a daily calendar of must-dos? What if we made most of them simple, with absolutely zero-prep required? Half of them indoor, half of them outdoor—perfect for the topsy-turvy weather of April. And of course, a couple of special activities with minimal supplies required just in case you feel like celebrating earth day and busting out the earth worm pudding cups from your childhood. Can’t you just smell the nostalgia?
